Meet Our Team
As we are a small operation, the coaches at Sheldon Tennis pride themselves on quality of service. Dean and his team provide the highest quality of tennis coaching as well as keeping the fun factor in lessons. Classes are small (maximum 4) so pupils will learn in a more concentrated environment. It is no surprise that in the past 15 years we have produced over 30 Australian ranked junior players and as well 10 coaches who are making a living out of coaching others.
Dean became a qualified tennis coach with Tennis Coaches Australia in 1993 and also a Club Professional Coach with Tennis Australia. Dean was playing the highest level fixtures for 20 years in the Eastern Suburbs in Sydney until moving to Brisbane in 2005.
Dan has been playing tennis since he was six years old and grew up with a tennis court in his backyard. He began tennis coaching in 2010 and has an ATPCA coaching qualification. A high-water mark for him in tennis was playing for Met East at Toowoomba and spectating at Wimbledon. Aside from a love of tennis and fishing, his passion is also cars.
Dan has been coaching with Sheldon Tennis since 2015. Dan played for Sheldon in Super League in a team called the ‘Sheldon Shorties’. In 2011-2013 he was ranked as high as 4th for his age in Australia, 1st in Queensland and also got an international junior ranking. His best results are winning the 14/u Rod Laver Queensland Championships. Dan’s highlights in tennis would be training with Serena Williams and being partners with Alex De Minuar in doubles. Dan left competitive tennis to pursue a career in Medicine which he is currently studying at Griffith University. In his spare time Dan enjoys fishing, golf and attending the races.
Bridget was born with a love of tennis and have had a racquet in hand for as long as she can remember. She is a 19 year old, Level 1 Tennis Coach whilst also studying a Bachelor of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. She loves being on court, especially with the little PeeWees.
